There have been a lot of posts and images of academics and administrations behaving badly. A LOT of them. It's a sad condemnation of some parts of #highered.

But.

My deans are lovely. They sent us an email today asking us to take some time for ourselves, to give ourselves grace, and give our students grace too. They said this time is too much for any of us, and to remember that not only for our students but for ourselves.

To be told by your bosses that you can and should let things slide, for your students but also as importantly for yourself, because this is all a lot?

There are good things, and good people, and good places in #academia.

And this is a thing that makes me happy.
