Not to discourse but the wealthy are sentencing the poor to mass death by plague to protect their bottom line so if you're losing your shit over a cute comic about shoplifting consider that you are to moral reasoning as a baby is to object permanence.
And before you say anything I did actually get fired from a job at Blockbuster because one person wouldn't stop stealing games over and over. I lived your nightmare scenario and I still don't give a shit. Grow up.
Like it's 2020 if you get mad about a cute shoplifting comic or someone admitting they shoplifted when they were younger I guarantee you have worse problems you could be dealing with.
You know what sucked about the situation with Blockbuster? Getting paid 7.50 an hour sucked. Having to work with more than one open homophobe with no recourse sucked. Being threatened with having the cops called because the dipshit regional manager and loss prevention guy ALSO--
--couldn't solve the problem but had to return to corporate with a scapegoat so they figured they could use footage of me reading gaming magazines on my break without paying for them and waiting until the end of my shift to pay for chips/drinks was enough to pin me sucked.
Maybe we could have caught the person doing it if we'd had security cameras for any reason other than monitoring the employees, but the budget for that didn't exist because the company's executives failed to account for Netflix/DVD burners and were digging their own graves.
And guess what? When Blockbuster reduced rental copies of DVDs/Games, they went to the Used shelves for sale. When they didn't get sold because people could get them cheaper at McKay's, we had a special machine to destroy the discs before disposing of them.
So there's even odds every single game or movie the person stole would have been ground into powder and chucked in a locked dumpster. Who cares? Piss your pants about it.
