Finally, some helpful but incomplete data on cumulative COVID-19 hospitalizations in Houston. More than 1,000 admissions so far at the city’s major hospital systems, though this omits many smaller hospitals in the region.
As we reported last week, these numbers suggest that the real number of COVID-19 cases in greater Houston is significantly greater than what’s been reported, due to lax testing. Would be great to get data on all hospitalizations and daily trends. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/houston-hasn-t-reported-surge-coronavirus-cases-its-hospitals-tell-n1175291">https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-n...
Also, recall that last week, Abbott announced there had been about 800 COVID-19 hospitalizations in all of Texas. Obviously a massive undercount considering there have been more than that many at Houston’s major hospitals alone.
