-absolutely fucking insane and the performances are incredible
-the twist at the end was

2. Article 15 (2019) dir. by Anubhav Sinha

-two girls go missing in a rural village and a newly arrived police officer realises it’s because of caste based discrimination
-shines a light on caste based crimes, darkly funny and chilling

-three friends take a trip to Spain before one of them gets married
-about forgiveness, friendship, finding love again
-the screenplay is one of the most incredible I’ve ever seen
-hrithik roshan sexy desi man

4. Andhaadhun (2018) dir. by Sriram Raghavan

-piano player pretending to be blind witnesses a murder and gets entangled in a series of mishaps
-this is a crazy ass movie but it’s so good, solid performances from the whole cast
-the ending is still highly debated

5. Gully Boy (2019) dir. by Zoya Akhtar

-rapper from the poorer parts of Dharavi gets a chance to make it big
-delves into social issues, the lyrics of each rap song is incredible
-alia bhatt is AMAZING in this
-was pushed for Oscars!!! so it’s a good movie

6. Shubh Mangaal Zyadaa Savdhaan (2020) dir. by Hitesh Kewalya

-gay man and his boyfriend try to convince homophobic family to accept them
-funny, very gay, basically if every single classic bollywood heterosexual movie was a gay movie instead
-amazing screenplay
-sexy men

7. Fashion (2008) dir. by Madhur Bhandarkar

-charts the rise and fall and rise again of small town girl turned supermodel
-this movie will make you realise priyanka chopra isn’t just an annoying face and that she Can act
-the cast give heartbreaking performances. v sad

8. Queen (2013) dir. by Vikas Bahl

-left at the altar, Rani decides to go on her own honeymoon and push her comfort zone
-very idealistic I feel, but it’s also a great movie about finding yourself
-kangana ranaut gives an amazing performance

9. Kahaani (2012) dir. by Sujoy Ghosh

-a pregnant woman tries to find her missing husband, and keeps running into dead ends
-it’s a mystery thriller and it’s VERY good, vidya balan gives an amazing performance
-the plot twist at the end is one of the best in indian cinema

10. 3 idiots (2009) dir. by Rajkumar Hirani

-two friends try to find their missing friend, and recount when they conquered college together
-a staple for kids everywhere
-funny and heartwarming
-my friends are chinese and watched it five times. so watch it please

11. War (2019) dir. by Siddarth Anand

-a senior secret agent goes rogue, and his own student is sent to track him down
-very very sexy score and the soundtrack goes off
-the plot is insane. I literally didn’t see that first plot twist coming
-again, sexy desi men

12. Guilty (2020) dir. by Ruchi Narain

-tw// rape
-a young student accuses the son of a politician of rape at the height of metoo
-in depth study of the rape culture in India and how women are guilty of it too
-VERY graphic rape scene at the end. otherwise it’s good

13. Te3n (2016) dir. by Ribhu Dasgupta

-an old man seeks to find those who kidnapped and killed his young granddaughter
-very sad and tragic but the twist at the end is really good
-excellent performances by everyone

14. Dangal (2016) dir. by Nitesh Tiwari

-former wrestler trains his daughters to be wrestlers too
-a twist on the typical sports movie by showing a truly touching father-daughter relationship
-sexy muscular women with big biceps and thighs

15. Bazaar (2018) dir. by Gauravv K. Chawla

-small time Mumbai stock trader gets hired by a big time corrupt stock trader
-a lot of talk about money but it’s worth it for radhika apte’s performance
-strong tw for suicide

16. Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) dir. by Anurag Kashyap

-two part film series about gang fights
-very cool and a cult classic in Indian cinema
-very very critically acclaimed, premiered at Cannes

17. No One Killed Jessica (2011) dir. by Raj Kumar Gupta

-film about the sensationalised killing about Jessica Lal who was murdered by the son of an influential politician
-incredible score, acting, screenplay
-excellent social commentary on the behind the scenes corruption

18. Ittefaq (2017) dir. by Abhay Chopra

-a police officer tries to uncover the mystery of the murder of a famous author’s wife
-the only two witnesses give opposing sides to the story
-if this summary doesn’t convince you to watch it idk what will

19. Black (2005) dir. by Sanjay Leela Bhansali

-a girl with visual and hearing impairments is helped by a teacher recognise her potential
-basically about indian hellen Keller
-great performances all around
