1/ Berners, I know a lot of you look to me for comfort with pep talks but tbh today I don't have it. But what I do have is acknowledgement - a recognition that you're feeling a spectrum of emotion right now from sadness and heartbreak to rage and even apathy. All legit.
2/ In electoral politics, the convos are usually focused on the right-brain: facts, policies, data. But I think it's important we also talk about feelings/emotions especially with a campaign like Bernie's whose core was about love and compassion.
3/ For many, Bernie was the first politician in our life where we not just got politically involved, we got emotionally involved. It was the first time we put our heart + soul into a campaign that was beyond the candidate and about a cause for the higher good of ALL.
4/ I believe in Bernie's vision of a future to believe in. I believe our country + world is a better place because we have a leader like Bernie Sanders in it who inspired millions of people to be the change we want to see in the world like he's been an example with his own life.
5/ For the first time, I believed we could actually have a good, honest, selfless human being as POTUS who fought for the poor and working class. Who saw the existential threat of climate change. Who was unbought, and most important led his life with moral principle - a rarity.
6/ I don't like it, but I get why Bernie chose to suspend now. Been noticing in his recent #coronovarius livestreams how consumed with worry he has for the people. His good consciousness, he couldn't ask any more for donations for himself. He can't run a campaign without money.
7/ It was also clear the DNC and Biden were willing to put lives at stake just so Biden could get more delegates. Because he has a soul, Bernie wasn't going to do that as evident in him stopping GOTV efforts in WI.

Bernie puts the people before himself as a GOOD leader should.
8/ By suspending, Bernie can also focus more attention in the Senate on #coronavirus package 4 making it a #PeoplesBailout to help the working class + the most vulnerable get through this pandemic, and for the country to avoid an economic collapse.
9/ Do I think Bernie could have fought harder and could have made some better decisions with his campaign, yes I do. But, I'm also proud of what we accomplished. We did MUCH.

Also, there are consequences the Dems will pay for their actions. We can do post-mortems later.
10/ Where do we go from here?

Immediate, get off social and take a break for self-care. Get away from the anti-Bernie toxicity. Spend (virtual) time with your loved ones + do things that bring you joy.

Then, we must come together and focus on getting through this pandemic.
11/ Tomorrow (cause I'm too exhausted already), I'll help explain what it means that Bernie suspended his campaign and the importance of him still trying to earn more delegates. It's got a lot to do with the Dem platform for the next 4 years plus what happens in future elections.
