Just look at the replies to this. Am I the only one who thinks we're nowhere near out of the woods in part because so many people think we're just gonna flip a switch and go back to normal? https://twitter.com/mitchellvii/status/1248029844945895425
Let's say 'the curve' flattens at 500,000 cases. That means one million confirmed cases. Further, let's say for every one confirmed case, there are 10 unconfirmed. That means 11 million total cases so far. And 319 million people ready to get the virus.
How the hell do we get from here to normal with no vaccine? I just don't get all the optimism out there.
Even if you assume there are 100 unconfirmed cases for each confirmed cases, that still leaves some 200 million people out there with no immunity, ready to be infected.
I'm assuming no big public events, no sports, no vacations, no work conferences, etc. for at least the remainder of 2020. Am I alone?
