Give some thought to how we used to be a positive influence in the world.
So much so that many countries and leaders emulated our standards.
Obviously, we see we were never quite as glorious as we imagined, but we knew of our collective desire to do better, be better. 1)
To be a country worthy of emulating.
What has changed is our long drive to be a beacon of hope and dreams to a greedy, racist, capitalist shell of our former selves. While we may feel we are trying desperately to re-align,we are seeing how this decay is affecting the world stage.2)
How extremism is taking a stronghold when we had started to make strides in influencing by example. In no way perfect, but again that beacon to emulate.

We must not forget this long journey before us is not only vital to us in the US, but the world. 3)
Change cannot be relegated to whomever follows this upcoming presidency, but must happen within it immediately.

Nothing will be easy going forward. Nothing has shown us more than this pandemic that life is too short to squander away opportunities to act. 4)
Life is too short to be afraid to demand what we have sought after in equality of race, of economy, and of human value.

It is lofty to dream this dream. It is not a US of A value alone, we have yet to live up to, it can and should be shared and demanded of the world. 5)
That War of Reparations, that War of Integrity, that War of Human Quality and Love is one I will sign up for with all my fellow humans. I hope we are capable of such a calling. 6) END
