If we had a pebble in our shoe we'd take the shoe off, jiggle the pebble out, put the shoe back on and go about our day. If we put our shirt on backwards, we'd take the shirt off, turn it the right way, and go about our day. Right??
What do we do with the thoughts that bother us though? We don't jiggle them out and throw them away... we don't turn them around and then go about our day... we identify with them, we have them become a part of us, we get so used to their existence that we begin to expect them...
and unconsciosly feel out of place when we're without them. We allow them the opportunity to take an active part in creating the reality we experience because we were never told we can throw them away, or turn them around, and choose another thought.
