BREAKING: Good news! Preliminary study of 10 patients with severe #COVID19 shows that after 1 dose of convalescent plasma:

The study in #China was NOT randomized, so these results must be confirmed in larger studies.

The viral load was *undetectable* after transfusion in 7 patients who had previous viremia (virus in blood).
Several lab parameters tended to improve: lymphocyte counts and C-reactive protein. Radiological exams showed varying degrees of absorption of lung lesions within 7 d.

Althought these PRELIMINARY results are encouraging, they *must* be confirmed in larger studies....
