Truth is, a lot of you know very little about football and each time you folks tweet, you emphasize that fact.

There are several times same scenario played out with Ronaldo but he had better luck (and of course, team mates stepping up to the occasion when he couldn't)

Imagine trying to belittle the contributions of Lionel Messi because he could deliver 100% of the time when in fact he delivered 80-95% of those times.

By that standard, let's see what it would look like if applied to Cristiano Ronaldo.
(Without talking about the times he lost)
1. Man Utd - Chelsea 2008

Ronaldo was obviously the best Man Utd (and overall) player that season and his goals were the main reasons why they made it that far in the UCL but everything would have been thrown away when he missed that penalty if Terry hadn't missed his.
And if Terry had scored, and Chelsea crowned UCL winners. These same fanboys arguing that Messi didn't deserve 2019's POTY Award would have burned down FIFA and every known media if he wasn't crowned FIFA POTY — which he would've deserved regardless of the turn out.
2. Real Madrid - Atletico Madrid 2014

Again, Ronaldo was the best player that season. But in the final when it all mattered the most, he downright ghosted. Atletico held on to a 1-goal from 36 mins until Ramos rescued the Los Blancos in 3 mins extra time, only for morale-boosted
...Real Madrid to go into ET to pummel a tired Atletico 3 more goals with finally finding the back of the net with a 120 min penalty where he pulled his shirt and threw it off like he scored the match-winning goal.

Had Ramos not scored, Ronaldo would've probably still been POTY
But RM would've been without that UCL.

But Ramos scored and everyone says Ronaldo won Real Madrid that UCL.

3. Real Madrid - Atletico Madrid 2016

Again, same Ronaldo was the best RM player, no doubt. But when it mattered the most in the final, he had good teammates who...
...stood up for him to cover a solid stinker where he created 0 chances, missed 1 big chance, no assist, no goal.

But he had a Ramos again to put RM in front early in the game, giving morale and confidence to RM side until Carrasco canceled it out, leading to ET & Penalties.
Same story, same post scriptum.

4. Atletico Madrid - Real Madrid 2017

Ronaldo scored a hat-trick in the 1st leg which ended in a 3-0 lead.
2nd, RM almost had the whole thing canceled out had Isco not come to the rescue with his 42nd min goal; crushing ATM's push for a comeback
5. Real Madrid - Juventus 2018

Similarly, in this tie, Ronaldo had already had an impressive 1st leg Vs Juve, netting twice (including the wonderful overhead kick). But in the 2nd leg, RM collapsed completely and just like Roma the day before, Juve was up for a great comeback.
They did get there comeback, too. But the only difference this time was Vazquez won a 90 min pen, profiting off Benatia's poor tackle, and (credit to Ronaldo's converting the pen though), RM escaped a risk of being ushered out in front their fans just like Barca away from home.
Sometime later and something very similar played out between Barcelona and Liverpool. Messi got a brace against the ever-pressing Liverpool (including the state-of-the-art free kick goal), got into the 2nd leg, was Barcelona's best player in the game, but had no Isco or Vazquez.
Real Madrid - Liverpool 2018

Like with ATM in 2014 & 2016, the Kyiv final was no different. Prior to the tie, Ronaldo again was RM's best player but when it mattered the most, he had the players to stand up for him (plus a stroke of luck).

Not only was he the worst RM player...
...he was the 2nd worst on the pitch with only Van Dijk having a lower rating than him (that's of course, if we're not counting the keepers, as Karius was a disaster). Thanks to Benzema and mostly to Bale (who came on in 29 mins to go to secure the win for RM), Kyiv was a success
Should we talk about Euros & UNL also?

1. Like Vs France in 2016 where he played only 25 mins, go injured & went to the sidelines to watch his teammates win it? Him & Nani were Portugal's best prior to that game, but were swallowed by France until Eder decided to take that shot
2. Or like Vs Netherlands in 2019, where he gallivanted the pitch for 90 mins, yet Portugal got victory thanks to Guedes?

This is despite not showing up in group stage games and KOs until the Semi where he got a hat-trick and then dropped a massive stinker in the finals.
Imagine if this streak of luck and having great teammates did not play out. Imagine if Ronaldo would have to be judged by the same yardstick Ronaldo fanboys try to use on Messi (who, despite all these, still has the most POTY and individual awards in the history of the sport).
By that ridiculous standard, Ronaldo was just a Terry's goal, Ramos x2 stinker, Benatia commonsense, Benzema/Bale absence, Eder indecision and Guedes ghosting away from becoming a Nikolas Bendtner with Balon D'Ors.

Without even talking about the times when he his team lost.
