One of my all time favorite, Lisyun Qng Geografia (dir. @petersenvargas), is now up on YouTube for free!

A masterful storytelling with colors, cinematography, music, and non-linear narrative. Lezgo dive in deep.

This film jumps from past to present multiple times. Which might be confusing for some but this film uses color grading to differentiate the two.

Warm for present. Cool for past.
It even shows in this poster from their socmed page.

Warm for present. Cool for past.
Though ngl the overall color of the film is more on the blueish-chill feel. Even in present scenes, it's predominantly blue. Which is just adds to the feels that we ARE indeed walking through memory lane-- hazy, dreamy, and melancholic. Blue fits that description perfectly.
OKAY CINEMATOGRAPHY LET'S GO. I <<fuckin love>> how this film uses the similar frames for multiple shots and have them convey different feelings/meanings in their own given contexts. No spoilers, here are samples.

First two is happy and playful. Last two, heavy and intense!
It also shows parallels between the two boys too uGH THIS FILM.
I'm not sure if tis is intentional or my overanalyzing ass jus tslapped it here and said, "well, it works." But the golden ratio. HAHA. It has been used to locate aesthetically pleasing areas to place our subjects and distribute weight in paintings. Here it is:
Basically, it tells you which space should be filled in and which ones to leave out. So it looks good. And for me, personally, damn it does look good. Hehe.

//Sorry I wasn't able to remove the ribbon thing, I needed to get the exact frame haha.
Have y'all also noticed how in almost every Tib sequence, they're using handheld cameras. Then Tric scenes or ones where it's the both of them, it's steady cam. Even in establishing shots.
Now non-linear narrative films are not new. But what's new to me is using it within each other. So in the movie, Tib finally goes back to the school. Then the scene jumps to a flashback to the confrontation scene. I'd like to call this the "map giving scene."
And it's ~genius~ how the conversation of that scene kind of bleeds out to the "the day after" sequence of the film. Giving the latter more gravity. The former scene is already emotionally charged and then boom, we go even heavier with what we see.

A time jump inside a time jump
OKAY LAST. A lot of people says that they discovered @ourselves_elves because of this film. All of the songs here are original and is written for the film. Of course it's gonna fit perfect. But let's still take a moment to look at it.
1. Baby I Love You So

A confession of a cute love huhuhu. Tric dead ass made Tib listen to it y'all if that doesn't scream confession idk what does.
2. Longing For

Ma'am it's the literal plot. "'Cause I've never loved you more than when you went away" eye- ????
3. Uncertainty

This is when we finally see that through they have known each other for a while now, Tib is still kinda scare to go to the next level bec what if it doesn't work out??
NOTE: Now this is something weird because Cincinnati Clocks is in the EP but not in the film. Then Larawan is in the film but not in the EP. We're going to focus on what's in the movie. ((na sana ilabas ng @ourselves_elves no, opo. parang awa niyo na.))
So the conclusion is open-ended. Or so we think. If you listen to the lyrics of the song that's playing, especially the lines in the credits, we will know what happened. Haha.
I wasn't able to put it at the beginning; but this thread is my own interpretation of the short film and what I thought was going on in it. I'm in no way a film student or legit critic hahaha masscom student lang kaya hindi na maka-nood ng films the same way lol
That's it, pancit! I fuckin love this movie so much huhu. Sorry that was long. The overall plot and like, emotions (eme) is a whole other thread. Is Tib an asshole? Is Tric selfish? Haha.

Anyways, pls watch it! then back2back niyo w 2 cool 2 be forgotten. wasak haha
