Back in early March I got a message from someone who was pregnant and using their FAM chart. It was clear to me that they ovulated around cycle day 18 and that we were looking at a pregnancy chart (high temps for more than 18 days, esp with a third tier rise)

In the chart above she was ~21 days pregnant - but she was getting a positive test. She had some implantation spotting which is normal but she went to the ER - they did an ultrasound and then told her the pregnancy wasn’t viable bc they miscalculated her pregnancy at 6 weeks

Here’s more of her testimonial - she tells her doctor she knows she didn’t conceive 6 weeks earlier and they ignored her - basing their assessment off of their methods for identifying fetal age... then tell her it’s best she uses pills to terminate because “it’s not viable”

Also - good time to mention she’s Latina - and we know how the medical system has forcibly practiced tacit eugenics through coercion like what happened to this woman

So I tell her (March 2nd) listen - don’t worry - your chart looks great and the temperatures don’t look like there’s anything wrong with your pregnancy - the spotting is common and it will stop

And today she sent me this

The charts don’t lie!!!!

So doctors miscalculated her date of conception, then used that miscalculation to judge the health of her pregnancy, then suggested a medical intervention for something that (if it wasn’t viable) would have resolved itself on its own, all when she wanted to welcome this pregnancy

But because of charting, she was able to use the health data she had to advocate for herself and subvert coercion towards terminating unnecessarily. This system is something else. We can do so much better and it starts with us wielding this information for our purposes and needs!
