So opposing counsel completely refused to acknowledge the substance of an email I sent him today and instead told me I was unnecessarily billing my client for long emails that tell him nothing.
The issue I emailed him about was reasonable and not adversarial. Simply told him that the medical bills we had for his client showed that her damages were $75k less than what he had told us they were, and I asked him to send me the bills we were missing.
He specifically invoked the name of a college friend of mine who works at his firm and said "I've only met you once. ________(my friend) speaks highly of you. Don’t send these long emails where you’re billing your client just to tell me nothing."
He claims to want us to make an offer to settle the case, but instead of actually engaging in productive discussions with him, every time I respond I get a combative answer and he has not on multiple occasions said "That you are billing your client for that email is ridiculous."
