COVID19 will affect at risk populations greater than other populations.
(1) The elderly - Obvious concern is poor COVID19 infection outcomes. But also ageism, mental health concerns and higher social isolation. Retirement homes are becoming foci of COVID spread.

(2) LGBTQ+ - No data re: COVID19 yet, but likely to have mental health implications.
(3) Incarcerated - Prison populations in US/China showing high rates of COVID19 spread due to crowding/poor healthcare/power dynamics. We must release low risk prisoners&stop sentencing.

(4) "Race" - Data out of Louisiana/Chicago etc shows COVId19 infection/outcomes worse for Af. Am. populations. Also increased risk due to pre-existing conditions (caveat: these genetic/race statistics have their own in-built bias). Socioeconomic/institutional bias manifests.
(5) Racism-Reports of anti-Asian racism in UK/US/etc. Imp to note that "chinese virus" is blatantly racist. Poorly understood cultural context of "wet markets", doesn& #39;t recognize socioeconomic need for these transactional centers. Also denies existence in "first world" countries.
(6) Undoc immigrants - Unlikely to seek out healthcare for fear of deportation/arrest, as well as lack of insurance. ICE must continue to stop arrest/deportation, at least temporarily. Deportation will seed disease elsewhere.
(7) Mental Health - Expect pandemic related increase in stress for all of us, but particularly those with pre-existing mental illness. Mental health centers will need incr. funding to facilitate social distancing/management/medicatoin/etc.
Also, imperative to consider mental health of medical practitioners/first responders. Early data out of China suggests high stress response in nurses.
(8) Domestic abuse - victims of domestic/child abuse at heightened risk during time of domestic sequestration.

(9) Ableism - COVID19 will affect disabled individuals significantly due to lower access to healthcare (as the system becomes overwhelmed), as well as due to pre-ex. conditions.
Ultimately, we& #39;re in this together. Every 1 of us. And we have to watch out for those at higher risk.
