To work-out upcoming IMF financing requests for COVID19 I tried to make an “info graphic” to see the basic structure of IMF facilities & keep track of what’s been promised & from where. Highlighted green are facilities revamped 4 COVID response (fast & meant to be low conditions)
Circled in red is the facility that was used to fund Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone during the Ebola crisis. For COVID19, it will be used to fund debt service to the IMF. UK committed £150mn on 11th March https://bit.ly/2yE7Zh8 & currently IMF fund-raising for more.
As of April 8th: twelve COVID related requests: Kyrgyz Republic first to be approved on 26th March. Half are existing programme related augmentations; half are from the rapid-release ones
Not sure if many more requests will fit on there, but may be useful to visualize for a start. @DanielaGabor @danielmunevar Data is all from IMF news feed. Acronyms are variations of financing facility names.
