Kinda concering that a lot of people on Twitter today didn’t know the difference between a tornado watch vs a tornado warning. So below is a thread explaining the differences and how both should be taken seriously! https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🌪" title="Cloud with tornado" aria-label="Emoji: Cloud with tornado">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🌪" title="Cloud with tornado" aria-label="Emoji: Cloud with tornado">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🌪" title="Cloud with tornado" aria-label="Emoji: Cloud with tornado">
A tornado watch means that tornadoes are possible in the area the watch is issued. Be ready to act quickly if a warning is issued or you suspect a tornado is approaching. Acting early helps to save lives!
A tornado warning means that a tornado has been sighted or indicated by weather radar. When an warning is made it best to go to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and avoid windows.
All my info was from the NWS!! For more info about the difference and what NWS and the SPC do during a tornado event check out this link. https://www.weather.gov/safety/tornado-ww">https://www.weather.gov/safety/to...
