Today I acknowledged that I'm going to have to slow down fiction writing for a while, simply because I don't know how I'm going to feel for the next however many months. Everyone will have a different story of how this has affected them, their health, their loved ones, their work, their finances, the things they do for fun. Thinking there's some single way to win at being in a pandemic is cruel and absurd.

I'm not failing at the pandemic when I don't get enough done. If I'm disappointed in myself, it's if my temper gets short, or I don't check in with people. I am getting as much done as I can. It will literally have to be good enough, by definition.
