Today we released Alberta’s modelling on #COVID19AB and where we project infections to trend in the next several weeks.

Some of the more notable parts of it:

First, we are leading Canada and most jurisdictions around the world in testing.

And we will only accelerate that testing, expanding it as needed, to be completing as many as 20,000 tests per day. #COVID19AB
Secondly, as I mentioned in my address last night, Alberta’s tough public health measures to push the #COVID19AB curve down seem to be working.

AB confirmed cases are comparatively lower than others, but we need to keep it up to ensure our health system can cope with the volume.
Third - in our probable scenario, the increase in #COVID19AB hospitalization and intensive care units can be supported by our healthcare system.

But - and this is critical - this scenario only happens if Albertans do their part to practice physical distancing, stay home if sick.
The work to push down the curve and pull the health system up to cope - much of it depends on you, Alberta.

I’d like to thank all Albertans for what they‘ve done, and will continue to do in the weeks ahead, to keep us on track, prevent the spread, and save lives. #COVID19AB https://twitter.com/jkenney/status/1248004849095954434
