Doctor on CNN says we’re going to have to keep social distancing and masks in place until a vaccine in ready, possibly as long as 24 months.

I personally am sick of Trump’s rah-rah bullshit he’s giving us every day. 1/

I get it. Trump needs a stronger stock market for re-election — well, he THINKS he does. So he’ll do anything to convince the market that this is over. Also, Trump is beholden to a lot of people who want the economy open, and don’t care who dies as a result. 2/

But Birx in particularly is ticking me off. She’s bought in to the rah-rah patrol, and now we’ve convinced the entire country that we’re already peaking and in a few weeks this will all be done.

Remember that early really scary model from Imperial College. It said we’d be able to lift quarantine for a month, then lock down for 2, then reopen for a month, then lock down for 2, etc until a vaccine is ready. Is that still true? 4/

When we “reopen the country” is mom 90 y.o. mom safe? As I, a 50-something with asthma safe? I dunno. Some docs we talk to say we’re going to have to still be careful. But Birx isn’t telling us that, nor is Trump. 5/

I want the Andrew-Cuomo-style unvarnished truth. I don’t want Trump’s rah-rah lies sugarcoated with a bit of Birxy truth. I feel like no one has giving us enough information from the start of this pandemic. And they still aren’t. And I’ve kind of had it. 6/

And now they’re saying on the news that this is going to be some sort of negotiation between Trump & Birx/Fauci. Are you kidding me? We’re going to risk killing more people and reopening this entire pandemic because people are “negotiating” with Trump over when to reopen? 7/

I want the truth. And I want it now. When can we safely open up — when is the earliest? Is Trump full of crap, trying for early May? We will be open by June 1? Will we need to close again in a month or two? Will the virus come back in the fall & require more quarantine? 8/
