I used to carry that sentiment that people who didn’t vote for the 2016 election basically voted for Trump until I grew up and realized that is not the case at all.
Trump won because people voted for him.
The right to vote is also the right to choose not to vote.
The right to vote means I have the right to choose a candidate that I feel will fight for policies to protect me as an individual.
The right to vote means I have the right to choose a candidate that doesn’t make me question their morale character.
If I choose to not vote for Joe Biden it’s not bc I’m being petty about Bernie’s loss, but because I feel he isn’t the right, OR better candidate for me.
Because if it really came down to it and Bernie lost to Elizabeth it would be a no brainer that I would vote for her
So say what you want about people who don’t choose to vote: they are still exercising their right.
I have a right to protect my interests
