i'd caution against doom and gloom, despite recent setbacks for the left in the political mainstream. celebrity worship is for the liberals. we'll win precisely because we don't pin all our hopes on one person or campaign, and lose all hope if it falls short

it's frustrating, i know. but we're in this for the long haul

people asking what they can do: downticket candidates who stand for good policies need your support! organisations outside of electoral politics need your participation! charities need your help. especially, atm, people affected by the virus need your help. support each other

take heart in the stark generational divide in recent elections. millennials and younger are overwhelmingly left-wing. as power concentrates in fewer, older hands, the increasingly absurd lengths they have to go to to hold onto it will make more people wise up

educate whoever you can, support each other and keep pushing. we'll get there
