A Thread For Christian Folks.

In 2015 I adjusted my theology from that of righteousness essentially by works, to righteousness by grace through faith because I felt the scriptures that supported the latter were more compelling than those...
That supported the former.
And I haven't looked back ever since.

Now, I have once again adjusted my theology concerning end-time events.

I no longer believe that the rapture will take place before what is known as The Great Tribulation, because I have...
Come to see that the scriptures that seem to support it are not as compelling as I was taught, and as I once thought.

Here are three of the best scriptures for it:
1 Thessalonians 5:9, Luke 21:36, and Revelation 3:10.
1 Thessalonians 5:9: For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Luke 21:36: Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Revelation 3:10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

The popular interpretation of these verses is that Jesus will snatch us...
... up and away before the tribulation begins.

But I have come to see that this is not accurate.

All the above verses are saying the same thing.
They make the same promise. Therefore, if I can 'disprove' the popular interpretation of any one of them...
The others stand disproved also.

So, please, let us examine Revelation 3:10 closely.

And, to do that, we will visit the original language from which it was translated: Greek.
Each of those numbers opens up to the Original Greek text. So let us check the word 'Kept'.

'Because thou hast KEPT my word.'
Kept is from the Greek 'Tereo' and it means 'to attend to carefully, to guard, etc'.

Now, let us see the other word 'Keep', as in 'I also will KEEP thee from the hour of temptation (tribulation).'
It is the same word 'Teleo'.

Now, let us see the word that was translated to 'From', as in '... Keep you FROM...'

You will notice that it can also be translated 'through'.
Therefore, in Revelation 3:10, Jesus is giving the church a word of comfort saying that He will attend carefully and guard us (as many saints who will be alive then) THROUGH the tribulation.

And, it is the same thing He is saying in Luke 21:6, and...
It is the same thing the Apostle Paul was saying in 1 Thessalonians 5:9. If you read the verses leading up to verse 9, you'll see that he urged the saints to live soberly and spiritually alert before he gave them that word of reassurance in verse 9.
So, what are some of the verses that prove that there will be believers on the earth during the tribulation?

In Matthew 24 Jesus clearly gave the sequence of events.

Please read it yourself.
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the
earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Matthew 24:29-30 NKJV

:And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.'
Matthew 24:22
Who are the 'elect' referred to here? The Jews? The Church? Don't forget the idea is for both Israel and the Church to be one (Romans 11).

So, the elect is the church.

There are other scriptures supporting this in the Book of Revelation. But this thread is
Already too long.

I think the first set of scriptures are indirect and wonky, requiring suppositions that aren't there.

The second set, on the other hand, are clear and direct.

This is currently not a popular theological position in the Universal Church.
But I invite you all to examine it for yourselves.

Kindly retweet if you think others can benefit.

I trust scripture-centric and honest men of God like @pastorpoju, @pauladefarasin, @PastorChrisLive to assess my submission.
