This is ridiculous
Being outside at a distance from others is safe. This decision will drive people into indoor environments, including those with poor air circulation, which are far more likely to concentrate pathogens. Wealthy people have backyards. Poor people have nothing https://twitter.com/cbcnewsbc/status/1247937182859317248
Here's some of the Japanese modelling on fine-particle pathogen concentration. literally the best thing you can do in enclosed environment is replicate an outdoor environment by opening windows. park closure decisions being made by lawyers, not scientists
Some of the policy nonsense on COVID 19 has been maddening. It was known for a month that large-droplet transmission could be blocked with masks. But that was ignored. It has also been known that small-droplet transmission is massively dissipated in convective environments
I get it that not everyone needs a long seminar on droplet ballistics and aerosol dispersion modeling. But this isn't rocket science. Keep your distance. Wear a mask to defend against sneezes at high distance. Avoid stagnant air and high population concentrations.
