#AprEl🚀 Day 8: Krypton, Doomed Planet
[Thread]
It's curious how we always know what is going to happen to kryptonians and their planet before them and how every panel featuring Krypton, no matter how peaceful it is, ends up being incredibly heartbreaking.
What's also fascinating, and part of why I find the whole mythos around Krypton so alluring in a way, is how we rarely see it having a long run, or a title.

We see pieces of it through Kara's memories, through Clark's logs on the Fortress.
For Super fans in general Krypton is a mystery we try to assemble, a way to access Kara's personality, Clark's DNA.

For creators, I imagine it's a way to characterise the kryptonians.

Supergirl fans have been particularly lucky in that regard.
Krypton, on Supergirl comics, show up not only for us to see what Kara lost and who she was before that loss.

We see why she is the way she is.

And if she's hopeful, helpful and compassionate it's not because she lost Krypton. It's because OF Krypton.
And yet it's very easy to forget that there was life there before a natural disaster, before Brainiac, before Rogor Zaal or anything else really.

There was two people going on dates, families, scientists, artists.

And that's where we need more from DC.
Krypton can't be just a memory on Kara's comics, it can't be just logs on Clark's fortress, something scattered around objects there.

DC needs to find more ways to keep it alive, to keep the mythos of the entire planet alive.
So to keep this organized, I'll post my tweets about today's prompt below.

Just an attempt to complete the puzzle that is Krypton, the Doomed Planet.
