Deep down, many Nigerians have lost hope in the possibility of a better Nigeria.

Majority, simply want to at least get out of poverty and have some comfort.
Others want to leave the country

But for most there is no getting out bcos the government has weaponized poverty...
What this mean is that, they intentionally take steps to keep a certain percentage of the Nigerian population poor.

This guarantees that every 4years, there are cheap votes to be bought.

If you have seen the poverty in the north, then you fully understand bcos these are the...
.people that influence election numbers the most.

Another intentional step by these men is empowering select few in the society.

Enacting policies that make it difficult for small businesses to thrive such that the few beneficiaries in return have to stay politically neutral.
Actually, politically neutral is a mild way of putting it.
The beneficiaries in turn have to be loyal to the system, not caring that it has broken so many.

One certain rich guy gave some huge donations to both political parties during the last election.

You see what I mean...
Well,
there are a few voices on social media and other platform that consistently advocate for better governance, such as @segalink @OgbeniDipo and many others

...and these people are doing the best they can with the limited resources available to them.

However,
In a country where snakes and monkeys have been accused of stealing money, social media advocacy may not be enough to set things right.

The political parties also have a structure whose foundation is built on corruption with members who have switched sides more than once.
Therefore, 90% of the time election candidates are handpicked by the senior men of the party.

Well we cannot completely loose hope for our country.

There is still a path to a better Nigeria.
Following INEC deregistration exercise, Nigeria has about 18 political parties including the two major ones.

Here are my thoughts
1. The 16 political parties should form a coalition and become a single party. This would mean there are only 3 parties right?
2. Right from inception, this 3rd party must put in measures to maintain and enforce transparency and accountability in all her activities.

3. Next, it's time to spread her tentacles/presence across the nation.
...But this needs funding right?
Personally, I know many people who would financially contribute what they can for a cause like this and I would do same.
4. So, public donations may be a way to generate funds.

Now don't misunderstand me, we may not win presidential or even governorship election at first.
But I strongly believe we would win on other grounds, maybe even at the level of local government chairman.

The shift Nigeria needs would only come when we are fed up of the system to the point where we collectively collaborate to overhaul it.
...and this should not be only when election draws near.

Think about the #COVID19 mess we are currently in. This could have been avoided if we had a sensible government that closed the borders when they should have.
Again, the shift Nigeria needs can only come when we collectively move to overhaul the system.

The question is,

Are Nigerians ready to work together to change the system?

Personally I don't think we are but I may be wrong...
I believe the summary of this thread is, we need to
