Let us be clear, Black folk are not inherently more susceptible to #COVID19 morbidity or mortality.

1. Systematic inequalities in occupation & job type have placed Black folk on the front lines of transmission because they are often lower-wage retail & essential service workers.
2. Systematic inequalities in ability to employ preventative measures, barriers to testing, & access to healthcare & insurance leaves Black commuties to fend for themselves & suffer in silence, & at best a significant delay & potential bias in medical treatment.
3. Gross disparities in chronic illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, asthma, etc. which are a result of systemic inequalities in general healthcare & the built environment ( #zipcode), increase the risk of mortality upon infection of #COVID19.
Moral of the story; Black death by #COVID19 is not the result of susceptibility to a novel viral infection, but a reflection of longstanding health disparities for a people that live at the social, political, economic, & environmental margins of society.
