Listening to Buzz Ballads
Song 1: It’s Been a While- Staind. Staind had some of the worst staying power throughout the last two decades, Aaron Lewis wrote a song about being a country boy despite being from Longmeadow.
2. Lightning Crashes- Live. Beautiful tune. First heard it on some buttrock station driving across Florida leaving a bengals dolphins game in December 2008.
3. Jumper- Third Eye Blind. Perfect, no notes
4. Hemorrhage (In My Hands) - Fuel. This was the big sell on the commercial IIRC. Crank it up to 11 after the “over and over and over again she cries” part
5. Glycerine- Bush. This came on during my driving time at Driver’s Ed and the instructor was like “this is my favorite song of all time”. Guy was in his 50s, had been exposed to ~4 decades of the best music ever made, and his favorite song was Glycerine by Bush. RIP to that guy
6. If You Could Only See- Tonic. This song sucks
7. A Long December- Counting Crows. Not sure what this is doing on a butt rock CD. Great track though
8. Hanging by a Moment- Lifehouse. It’s weird to me that Lifehouse hasn’t gotten the “Mr. Brightside” treatment. God, Mr Brightside is awful. This song is better and catchier
