Specifically, they’ll be sending them to a building DOC is reopening for this purpose. It was shut down less than 2 years ago because of horrendous conditions.

This includes people in local jails, the majority of whom haven’t been convicted of a crime. If they get COVID, they’ll be *sent to prison.*

No one should be fighting a deadly disease in prison or jail. But with Angola specifically, just over a month ago a judge issued an order saying she was preparing to find medical conditions there unconstitutional.
