Today, as #Fulbright scholars are still securing insurance, unemployment and housing after our grants were unexpectedly terminated, Fulbright informed us that the only accomodation they are making for current grantees is waiving the two year year waiting period to reapply.
If scholars wish to finish their projects, they will need to reapply for a grant they have already received, and which they may not receive a second time, and uproot their lives a second time a year and a half from now, after uprooting them this year ended in disaster.
A #Fulbright is more than a line on a CV: the work is what is important. We cannot promote intercultural understanding if we cannot finish our projects.
