The money I receive is for low ses students to access the same level of educational opportunity as more affluent students. By providing things low ses kids don’t get:

1.Tuition – two paraprofessionals deliver all day everyday tuition, Impact -over 12000 visits last year, persistent increase in HSC band and ATAR results last 4 years. 2019 -68 % of yr 12 first round offers up from 40% in 2015.
2.Reading: Software: subscription to online maths programs, literacy programs, reading programs, online video library elibrary. . 2019 240 students completed Premier’s reading challenge, compared to 2014– 5. 2019 year 7 average reading growth –10 months.
3.Technology- replaced chalkboards {yes CHALKBOARDS} in every room with whiteboards and data projectors. Built computer hub classrooms in each faculty. Provide access to loan devices
4.Refurbished and redesigned special education unit provided 9 class unit with laptops and data projectors Refurbishment of hall, replacement of 30 year old sound and lighting, refurbishment of library
5.Resources: science equipment, textbooks, calculators, musical instruments, novels , ETC
6.Creation of wellbeing centre – hire of additional wellbeing teachers and support staff, additional counsellors and access for community providers. Over 1200 appointments last year.
7Additional professional Learning money to build staff skills in behaviour management, social and emotional skills and restorative practice
8.Welfare packs and breakfast programs, uniforms and equipment for needy students.
Every order and invoice is view able to the department via the centralised finance system. Expenditure accounted for in annual school report and school plan. My expenditure is based on my school context not predetermined centralised initiatives– which is why it works.Just saying!
