The most remarkable thing in "12 Angry Men" is watching Lee J Cobb go from probably the most hated character to the most sympathetic character in the course of maybe 2 seconds.
About 15 minutes into the film, Lee J Cobb says, "Here's what I think and I have no personal feelings about this; I just want to talk about facts." As we know: he actually has nothing BUT personal feelings. It reminds me of Ben Shapiro's "facts don't care about your feelings"
mantra. It's clear if you spend any time listening to Shapiro that his intellect is completely at the mercy of his feelings. This is normally the case with people who claim to only deal in facts and logic. It's a cover -- usually for barely-controlled hatred.
There's a scene at 1:17:40 where Ed Begley stands up quickly and goes on one of his many racist rants. Based on the camera work, I don't think he was meant to stand. I suspect they kept that take because his performance is amazing.
