So I have tried for 10 months now to get our A/C unit fixed. It didn't work last year; while the air temperature in the HVAC system was cold, the air wasn't being blown into the apartment at a rate that could effectively moderate the temperature.
It could get up to 80 degrees in our apartment if the outside air temperature was 80 degrees.

Yesterday, it got up to 78 degrees outside, and the inside air temperature reached 81 degrees in my roommates bedroom.
I repeatedly asked our maintenance and leasing staff to fix the equipment and was repeatedly told "there's nothing we can do". I'm not an expert on HVAC systems; however, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to determine the machine was broken and needed professional maintenance.
So, yesterday, as it warmed up outside, the inside air temperature rose as the A/C unit couldn't handle the change in temperature.
I wake up this morning and discover that the evaporator coil on our unit froze, the piping was exposed, and the unit is leaking water. I shut the unit off and it continued to leak water, although the ice melted.
I called our leasing office to have maintenance come fix the machine since we don't have working A/C and it was leaking water; I was told "it's not considered an emergency, but we'll let our maintenance staff know".
Like I find it difficult to believe that there are so many emergency repairs needed that nobody can come fix our equipment to stop it from leaking in the course of 2 - 3 days.
While I'm trying to be patient since COVID-19 is interrupting life and our complex's normal operations, I've been trying for 10 months to deal with this problem and we have the most incompetent leasing staff I've ever witnessed.
