We are still in the urgent phase of the Utah Leads Together plan. Data will lead us in future decision making, says @GovHerbert.

We thank people for maintaining a physical distance from others. It may not be a normal Easter this year. Only travel if it’s essential.
What does essential travel mean?

New governor’s order:

Starting Friday, everyone entering Utah through @slcairport and all motorists entering Utah will be given a survey that asks them to declare recent travel and to note if they have tested positive for COVID-19.
Now, @CarlosUDOT executive director of @UtahDOT touts our partnerships and explains that
motorists will receive a wireless emergency alert upon driving into Utah.

9 locations will be geotargeted with an alert. As motorists stop driving they can go to http://entry.utah.gov
Q: How will information from travel declarations be used?

A: The information will be kept secure and will give @UtahDepOfHealth the ability to contact those who need to be contacted.
Q: What did Dr. Fauci say to Utah? Anything we are doing well?

A: He said Utah got on board early with efforts and closed schools early, as well as in-house restaurant dining. Distance learning started at universities early.
Q: Is there a penalty if people don’t fill out the declaration?

A: This is not an effort to penalize people. This is an effort to inform.

We can take stricter steps if we need to, but when people know the right thing, they tend to do the right thing.
