Well, I don't usually post about my own opinions on twitter (or any other social media), because I am surrounded by many fantastic and rational @SamHeughan fans, and I feel very represent of them. However, in the last few days, I have been very upset with some fans who think
that because we're fans, we have to support whatever crap Sam says and I don't agree with that. We are in the middle of a serious pandemic, many people are dying, there are not enough health resources to take care of those who are sick, doctors are choosing who will live and die.
Apart from the various social and economic problems that we will have to face after this damned coronavirus. While this shit is going on, I can't stand a guy, who despite admiring his work as an actor and with charity, keeps posting photos, videos of his "deserved" vacation like
nothing, absolutely nothing is happening in a place where there are very few resources of health for its inhabitants, whose government may already implement it for tourists to return home. Don't be telling me that Sam is "helping the local economy", because it's not time to think
about it, it's time to stay home and support our communities. Holidays can be taken at another time, lives need to be saved now. Being someone's fan is not closing your eyes or trying to cover up the bullshit that person does, being, even more,
a public person and that serves as an example for many. We have to criticize when they should be criticized and support when they need to be supported. I leave my outburst here and ask the fans (even for @SamHeughan, who despite not knowing him personally,
I believe hs still a nice guy, in spite of follows and continues with the wrong choices), please put your egos and narratives aside, focus on what we're living, rethink your attitudes and BE REAL KIND with each other.
