La Liga teams effectiveness in possession and defensive solidity:

In this viz, I tried to look at the no. of passes it takes for a team to create 1xG & no. of passes it takes for the opponents to create 1xG.

Some conclusions below ⬇️⬇️

Feedback & discussions appreciated!!😁
-Atletico Madrid & Real Madrid are the toughest to break down in La Liga
-Getafe are very effective when they have the ball & in front of goal over-performing their npxG by a factor of 4
-Levante are the easiest to break down & aren't much lower due to Aitor (cont.)
Aitor has been sensational this season. Levante have the highest post shot xG in the league with 51.4 but have only conceded 40 goals. Aitor has made the 121 saves in La Liga this season, 26 more than any other keeper & he is facing better quality chances too.
-Celta Vigo have kept a lot of ball but have been very inefficient in using it & aren't good defensively either

-Valencia paint a grim image no matter the statistic

-Alaves are very effective whenever they see the ball, they quickly look for goal at turnover of the ball
-Leganes suffered from an abymal start to their campaign where they managed 1 win & 11 losses in 15 games. In the next 12 games that followed they had just 3 losses.

-Granada were in the top 4 for 5 continuous weeks. A bunch of hardworkers who left everything on the field
-Barcelona's struggles this season are well accounted for, they aren't effective in possession & have failed to keep it tight at the back as well. An aging spine & injuries to attacking players have all been pointed at but with Messi in their side they are currently at the top.
They are over-performing their xG by a margin of 11 & having scored a total of 12G from outside the box (Messi accounts for 8 of those). Well it certainly helps having Messi in your team.

-Osasuna are very effective in possession as well
