I THINK that Bernie Sanders has had a net positive influence in that he had a role in pushing the dem party more to the left than it otherwise would have been without him. He can hang his hat on that as part of a greater good.

However,

it is without a doubt that so much of the Bernie support movement has been nothing more than a terror for so many Black folks who simply asked him to do more. We got gaslit, abused, and harmed for the better part of 5 years. There has been real pain caused by these people.

I experienced it firsthand and I saw so many of my peers have to fight through it just for pressing him EQUALLY to how much they press all the other candidates. I know most won't but it'd be nice if those supporters used this a time for reflection.

(The reason I say "think" Bernie had a net positive in moving the party left is because movements led by marginalized groups were at a fever pitch by 2014 and they have as much a hand in moving the party left so at least most of that shift would have happened w/ or w/o Bernie)
