INBOX: New records released from Health and Human Services and obtained by @OversightDems detail a fractional and what they describe plainly as "inadequate" distribution of PPE and ventilators to states
Distro. report, dated Apr 6, here: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/6827847-PPE-Distro-Report-Apr-8-2020.html
@CourthouseNews
HHS & FEMA confirmed yesterday w/ @OversightDems that the administration has made its final shipment of PPE from the national stockpile, accounting for 90% of its inventory of N95 masks, surgical/face masks, shields, gowns and gloves. The remaining 10% reserved for fed workers.
The distro report (again, available here: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/6827847-PPE-Distro-Report-Apr-8-2020.html) shows that states rec'd 3 PPE shipments, with only a few states rec'ing an additional shipment.
Oversight Dems say in their mtg yesterday, HHS said most shipments "were not based on states' requests."
The cmte also says it confirmed feds are not taking control of supplies into the US via Project Airbridge or directing private sector suppliers to send PPE to specific hospitals with greatest need. Instead, suppliers need only agree to sell half of their shipment to "hotspots"
"Suppliers are not required to reimburse the federal government for the cost of air shipment" either, Dems note.
