Are you ready for this beautiful, short film from Don Hertzfeldt? The film is divided into three chapters, following stick man Bill. Although animation, this is a serious, grown up film about mental health and absolutely worth your time.

We chose this film because we were so sad that @CardiffAnimFest had to move to next year and we were looking forward all kinds of treats. Luckily the festival have made lots of films available - take a look http://www.cardiffanimation.com/
Everything will be OK.

Something so heartbreaking about seeing that delicate, flickering phrase on screen. Reaching out to you in the darkness. We have been finding a lot of reassurance in #WatchAlong events, hope you do too.
Animation in Hertzfeldt's style seems to recreate the process of dreaming. We get to know Bill in fragments, the collage and cacophony mirroring the overwhelming nature of processing everyday life. #WatchAlong
The use of colour is striking after we are used to the black and white world of Bill. It conjures up memories of migraines and over stimulation, meaning we instinctively understand more about Bill. We understand completely how he feels. #WatchAlong
Bill in Space - the strangeness of being operated on, being out of control of your body in hospital is something we know a lot of people are concerned about at the moment. Our love to you if you have loved ones you can't be with tonight. #TogetherApart
As the seriousness of Bill's medical and mental illness becomes apparent the film drifts even more into philosophy and time jumps around. Moments of beauty and heartbreak, stillness and movement. #WatchAlong
'I love you' amessage in the sand in the moments after his collapse. The last thing on his mind is love, the minuteness of things in this huge moment. Reminiscent of the work of Emily Dickinson why was fascinated by similar themes 'I heard a Fly buzz when I died' #WatchAlong
A new voice, not Hertzfeldt's usual narrative voice, is alarming. We have a sense of panic. As we carry on his journey it is reassuring, but we soon learn that he himself is an unreliable narrator in his life. #WatchAlong
'It's kind of a really nice day!'

How many of us have thought this and done a walk around the block recently? This is a strange time and we must find joy in these small wonders like Bill. We are alive. Isn't everything amazing?
