You can't just demand a coalition while actively insulting, demeaning and condescending to everyone who isnt in your camp. You aren't entitled to support when you make no effort to offer anything of value to those whose support you seek. You need more than just, "not Trump"

anyone could tell you that hostility, condescension, and entitlement aren't going to change minds or win votes

running solely on "we're not Trump" is awful, but it'd beat running on, "we're not Trump, also if you want to improve society at all, fuck you, just vote for Trump"
