With Bernie out of the race, it looks like we’re getting a repeat of 2016. Joe Biden doesn’t have a good chance of beating Trump. He’s a neoliberal who doesn’t stand for anything substantive, his track record is horrible, and he’s sundowning. He’s not ready for this shit.
Of all the 20+ candidates in the primary, Democrats went with the second worst choice ever (the first is Bloomberg). Are y’all THAT desperate to beat Trump that you’ll settle with anyone with a D in their name without vetting them? This is why y’all gonna lose.
So what will I do in November?

Unless Biden starts adopting more progressive ideas sincerely and he picks a real progressive as his VP choice (which are both unlikely), I’m sitting this election out because he ain’t getting my vote.
“BUT IF YOU DON’T VOTE, THAT’S JUST ANOTHER VOTE FOR TRUMP!!”

By that same logic, not voting is also another vote for Biden. I gritted my teeth and voted for Hillary in the 2016 general election. I’m done being gaslighted into picking the lesser of two evils.
My vote has to be earned and, “the other guy is bad” isn’t enough. Let’s say, for instance, Joe Biden somehow wins the election and Trump is out. What next? Are you just gonna sleep at home with happy thoughts and create the same complacency that gave us Trump in the first place?
Whether it’s Biden or Trump, there will still be income inequality, people will have no healthcare, climate change is still happening, etc. That’s something pro-Biden Democrats don’t think of, all they can think of is beating Trump. That’s it. Everything else is secondary.
But there is one upside to this if there is any: the left will keep fighting. I know people are bummed out today (welcome to the club), but this doesn’t end with Bernie. It’s always been a tough uphill battle, but the fighting continues.
The establishment and their constituents want you to give up as they celebrate the news right now. Don’t give in. Keep holding their feet to the fire. And keep voting for progressives (or the most progressive people) in every local, state, and federal election.
I’ll tell you this: come the next election, my vote is going to a progressive or the most left-leaning candidate in the race. I’ll gladly give my vote to a Ro Khanna, Nina Turner, AOC (even though she wouldn’t be eligible until 2028), Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, etc.
And I know that the establishment and MSM will continue pushing figures like Kamala Harris, Mayor Pete, Amy Klobuchar, or even Andrew Cuomo and Gavin Newsom.
I’ll end this thread with this: when November comes, go with your instinct. If it says not to vote, don’t vote. If it says to suck it up and vote for the Democratic nominee because you live in a red/swing state, do so. Just be ready for a complete shitshow either way.
