Since early 2016, when i started getting familiar with his platform and ideas, Bernie Sanders has been one of the persons I look up to the most.
Someone who unashamedly fights for the right thing despite how much shit he might her for it from the everyday crooks and hypocrites.
So seeing him drop out has me feeling absolute distraught.
When you star to think about how it all went down, it’s imposible to omit the fuckery that the DNC put forward before super tuesday.
The corporate branch of the democratic party and the media ended up shutting down one of the most fervent and inspiring probably (hopefully not) of our lifetime, and all because “we can’t go too far to the left”.
Now people are left with Joe Biden, an uninspiring politician, alleged rapist, who brings essentially nothing new to the table, someone who has half of his supported rooted in old people, someone who sells out to big pharma, wall street, the military, etc.
At the end of the day, this should be another lesson to us leftists, probably the one that gets the point home: the status quo will do absolutely anything in its power to stop change.
If Bernie Sanders, who ran probably the most historic campaign in modern times, with an unprecedented grassroots mvmnt backing him, still got fucked up, you have to, must know that it’ll be really tough.
