In so many ways, isolation has become more of a prison than a safety measure; we’re copped up in the house all day, alone, or with cranky kids or partners. /1 #COVID19Nigeria
Sometimes we just want to go out, stretch our legs and take a break. But we can’t, instead were stuck in a four-walled house. It's nothing close to a holiday for most of us. /2 #COVID19Nigeria
We still have deadlines and meetings, kids with assignments, partners with needs, and we can’t seem to get a break. It feels like life is slowly creeping us out. The somewhat annoying part is, nothing interests you anymore. /3 #COVID19Nigeria
You just don’t feel like doing anything; working out becomes a herculean task, your manuscripts are staring at you & there’s no motivation to work on them, on some days your kids frustrate you and nothing seems to be working /4 #COVID19Nigeria
It’s alright to feel this way, don’t beat yourself up, you’re 100% human and not a super-human. You’re entitled to these feelings. But here are things you can do when and if things are getting too much. /5 #COVID19Nigeria
- Create a rooster/time-table and if possible, give out incentives (for your kids).

- Take a break, if possible, lock yourself up in a room and do what you have to do without interruptions, (sleep, read, exercise, work, see a movie or stare at the ceiling). /6 #COVID19Nigeria
- You could binge watch some TV series or read a book. Anything to take your mind off the moment. You can also decide to stay idle. Normalize being in the moment. You don’t have to be busy all the time. /7 #COVID19Nigeria
Most importantly, do whatever you have to do to keep sane in these times, your health is important and should be your topmost priority, and no, you’re not selfish for being concerned about your health. /8 #COVID19Nigeria
Lastly, if you need to talk to someone, we are here for you and nothing is too insignificant for us to help you with, you don’t have to go through these trying times alone. Just send us a DM💚 /9 #COVID19Nigeria
