"....hello?"
"They say the moon is supposed to be really big and bright tonight."
Kei squints as he takes the phone away from his face to check the caller ID and to make sure he& #39;s not mistaking the voice he heard.

He rubs at his tired eyes
"King what.... why the hell did you call me five times at..." he glances to his digital clock "1 am?"
"The moon reminded me of you"
"...what?" Kei thinks Kageyama is losing his mind or maybe he himself is losing his mind. He checks the caller ID again, & #39;Your Majesty& #39; it says.

Kei frowns as his muddled mind can& #39;t process anything that is happening right now.
"...shima!"
"Tsukishima!"
He reluctantly brings his phone against his ear as he lazily sat up his bed.
"Tsk, don& #39;t shout damn it. Why are you even awake? Don& #39;t you have a strict routine?"

"I was reading the reviewer you did for me the other day," Kageyama says bluntly. Kei sighs loudly through his nose.
"And you called me because? I already wrote it as simply as I could. If you have questions just ask me tomorrow--"
"I didn& #39;t call you for that dumbass,"
"And you called me because? I already wrote it as simply as I could. If you have questions just ask me tomorrow--"
"I didn& #39;t call you for that dumbass,"
Kei thinks he& #39;s gonna have a headache soon. Kageyama doesn& #39;t make much sense most days and now with Kei& #39;s sleep deprived brain he can& #39;t trust himself to decipher what the King even wants at this ungodly hour.
"So? Why DID you call me? Make it quick will you?"
"So? Why DID you call me? Make it quick will you?"
"Were you even listening? I heard that the moon was supposed to be really big and bright tonight--"
"Really big and bright tonight," Kei echoes, irritation lacing his voice "Yes, King I heard you the first time,"
"What does that even have to do with me?" Kei & #39;tsk& #39;-ed

"Watch the moon with me," Kageyama demands.
Kei sits there, dumbfounded as he tries to find words to reply.
"Are you out of your mind?" He settles on saying instead, a bit hysterically.
"No? I& #39;m perfectly fine," Kageyama replies in the most nonchalant voice.

Kei exhales another deep breath as he pinches the bridge of his nose.
"If you don& #39;t notice, we are on the phone; I can& #39;t watch the moon with you--"
"Why not? It& #39;s not as if the moon changes depending on where we are? Come on Tsukishima that& #39;s basic astrology!"

"It& #39;s astronomy, King, not astrology"
Kei physically feels his patience bleed away but somehow he can& #39;t bring himself to hang up. He& #39;s so tired and yet moving to hang up a call is too troublesome.
"Eh same thing. Space and stuff,"

"Space and stuff," Kei echoes lowly but bitterly.
"Just open your windows and look at the moon will you?" Requests from Kageyama sound like demands, and to Kei every demand sounds like an order from the King.
He& #39;s irritated at himself for finding the energy to do just that.

He& #39;s irritated at himself for finding the energy to do just that.
He stumbles out of bed, halfheartedly fighting his sheets to free his legs before slipping on his house slippers to drag his feet to the windows. The curtains are down and Kei makes a sloppy attempt of parting them, opting to just go behind the curtain to face the window.
If it weren& #39;t for the low breaths that he hears he would have thought that Kageyama hung up on him.
"I& #39;m at the window,"
"Good," Kageyama says, sounding satisfied. Kei wants to throttle him.
"Open it,"
"No," No he will not let cold air smack his entire being thank you.

"Tsk fine. Look at the moon,"
Kei has no trouble finding the moon. It does look exceptionally closer and brighter. It almost looks like the sun hasn& #39;t left at all.
"I& #39;m looking,"
"Good,"

"Good,"
"What that& #39;s it? I thought you were gonna wax poetic about it or something," Kei asks as he rubs his eyes a little too forcefully.
"What do you mean?" Kageyama replies as oblivious as ever.
"Nothing," Kei huffs as he continues on staring at the round moon.

"I think the moon tonight looks like you," Kageyama declares after a beat. Kei resists choking on his own saliva.
"Excuse me? Do I look like a bright circle to you?" Kei hisses as he grips his phone.
"No? The moon just looks really intimidating right now."
"Excuse me? Do I look like a bright circle to you?" Kei hisses as he grips his phone.
"No? The moon just looks really intimidating right now."
"But like, in a really impressive way."
"I& #39;m afraid I don& #39;t follow King," Kei grits his teeth, if Kageyama doesn& #39;t get his shit together in ten seconds he& #39;s gonna hang up.
"You know how the moon looks really small everyday? But suddenly now it& #39;s like BAM! Bigger."

"And now it& #39;s really bright you don& #39;t even need street lamps to see outside, it& #39;s like when you actually try in stuff,"
Kei feels like he& #39;s about to pop a vein. He can& #39;t believe he lasted this long in humoring the King and really he could just hang up. But also--

"You& #39;re so unassuming most days but then you have rare moments where you just go & #39;gwah!& #39; or & #39;ffsha!& #39; and it& #39;s like how this super moon let& #39;s us see more at night, it& #39;s like you powered up ten times,"
There was so much to unpack in what Kageyama said that Kei feels lost.
