Last night, I was reminded of the day after the last presidential election. And how I was around ppl who didn't really understand the consequences of what they'd done. And how ENRAGED I was about that.
Because I think I could have understood purposeful, intentional cruelty? It would have hurt but I would have found some measure of solace in that.

But the mood was "OOPS." I'll never forget that shit.
And I remember saying "it must be nice to know that your reckless ass decision doesn't put YOUR life at risk." While my black ass, in this female body, knew I would be among the first to feel the consequences.
So now, I'm sitting here, the day after my 80+ year old aunt died fucking alone in a hospital in a pandemic that is spreading LARGELY due to federal incompetence.

And all I see is red.
Red and fucking "OOPS."
Elections are not theoretical exercises. They are not opportunities for you to perform your "brand."

They have consequences beyond your feelings. And if we don't get that NOW, as we watch Americans needlessly die from what SHOULD have been a manageable problem...
