This COVID-19 situation is really something. I can’t believe we got rejected by a hospital because they said they’re already in full capacity for PUIs. But thanks to a public hospital, we got him tested for other sickness and confirmed he shouldn’t be tagged PUI. ☺️
Background: we got news that he suffered a bad fall and vomited so we need to have him tested for fractures/contusions, but in the first private hospital we visited, he was flagged for his body temp registering at 38 degrees, so automatically he’s a PUI.
It’s actually the hospital’s discretion, and we respect that. Our redirection to the community hospital of 158 bed capacity is eye-opening. I mean, I was born in a public hospital and my mom has a lot of stories about how different it is in there. But to see is to believe.
As if being sick isn’t hard enough already, the lack of modern facilities can really bring doubts to any patient who is about to enter the emergency room, let alone be admitted. But seeing how accomodating the staffs are, at least that’s comforting.
If only I have enough time to vlog about this experience, I will definitely do it. I just think it’s not gonna change the whole situation over night, and it takes a lot of effort. My sincere hope is that someday, we’ll have a better and more realiable healthcare system.
To everyone who are at home, PLEASE, STAY AT HOME. Don’t risk it. (PS: Within 2 hours, I saw 2 babies brought to ER because of difficulties in breathing. It’s so freakin’ heartbreaking to see them cry, while their parents look so helpless.)
