TBH,1 of the worst things I ever did in life was become informed. Now I don't really think that highly of humanity, or have any real belief in the goodness of society. I think the world is a beautiful place, that individuals are great, but I have little faith in the nature of man
You wonder how I could ever be happy? Well, my friends, family, & loved ones. I enjoy small things around me. Beautiful scenery, good food, coffee etc. Lots of humor. But, in general, I don't think we will ever overcome things like greed, for example. It's too ingrained in us
I don't really think that truly good people ever become national & world leaders. I don't think we'll stop destroying the earth before it's too late. Or we'll ever get rid of racism, sexism, xenophobia, greed, war etc etc. I don't see humanity having that in us. Too selfish.
I think we can find happiness as individuals, but I don't think as a people we will ever find salvation from our most inherent flaws.
And this feel good thread of the year has been brought to you by reality. Take a harsh dose at your own discretion. Side effects are being grouchy, drinking lots of coffee, rage tweeting, & possibly moving to China at some point.
