One time in Kano, my gf at the time and I were walking past an army barracks as they were lowering the flag. I didn't know that they expected civilians to also stop and stand still during the lowering. We didn't. They chased me down & forced me at gunpoint, to the barrack (1/5) https://twitter.com/kolatubosun/status/1247832917646225411
At the gate, an officer was yelling at me, telling me that I should have stood at attention during the flag lowering. They then told just me to start frog jumping. I was on the ABU basketball team at the time, and we did frog jumps in training. So I was banging them out. (2/5)
Seeing that I was doing the frog jumps in place with no issues, they had me start jumping towards the road from the gate, with two soldiers following and yelling at me. Now that was tough, but I gutted through. My gf was still at the gate, begging the officer in charge. (3/5)
I got all the way to the road then they yelled I should stop and double time run back to the gate. I got to the gate, in a full sweat, with my legs burning! The officer said my gf begged for me and they will let me go. That next time I should stop during flag lowering (4/5)
Shaken, a little wobbly and dripping in sweat, I thanked them and we started walking away. Then the officer says, "You try o! You should be a soldier!"..... mtcheww..... (5/5)
