Today I slowed down. I did what was necessary but I didn't push myself during #remotelearning. I talked to my students today about the possibility of us not seeing one another through the end of the school year. We talked about #COVID19 deaths, personal and city-wide. 1/
We talked about middle school f graduation. Uncertain how that'll work if schools close for the rest of the school year. They ALL MISS SCHOOL SO MUCH, even the ones who always came in saying "I want to go home" every. single. morning! The Google Meets chats are sustaining. 2/
The kids CHEERED when I told them no NY state tests this year. "They're so stressful, Ms. Tan, that I couldn't even sleep! Thank GOD," one said. We got 3 kids call in via phone on the Google Meet today who haven't had tech/internet access. The class was so happy to hear em. 3/
We worked out a plan w/ a student w/o internet; doesn't know how to use the school-provided device. They're motivated. Just a reminder- all kids want to learn and want/need to be w/ other ppl. This is a lot on em. To see my class is THE reason I'm doing this #remotelearning. 4/4
