Sanders ending his campaign early is a big-time unity move that he should get a lot of credit for from Democrats. Hopefully the Biden camp will follow back by seriously considering changing their mind on vastly expanding Medicare access or M4A, given what COVID19 has shown us. https://twitter.com/huffpost/status/1247915411410206722
If we have learned one thing from this pandemic it's that linking healthcare access to employment is dangerous to the public health and to the economy. Bernie's campaign struggled to grow its base or to seem welcoming to normie liberals but he has been proven right on healthcare.
Biden could go a long way toward acknowledging that point by coming Sanders' way on that issue, and incorporating some form of Medicare access option to his own healthcare plan, even if they leave in place private care options for unions etc.
Sanders had a lot of good ideas, whatever you think of their campaign strategy (there's plenty of time to download about that.) Those ideas need not be left behind. And Sanders deserves credit for stepping up in the breach today.
