during a pandemic you want me to vote for someone that doesn't support universal healthcare. DURING A PANDEMIC?

whew, chillay!
what i am trying to say:

this is a spectacular event, this particular biological virus (C-19), and it is articulating with stunning clarity and force the fact of human vulnerability and fragility.
we do not have to renounce the fact that we are vulnerable and fragile, this is the gift that gives existence meaning.
but bc we live in a world of racial violence and its political economy (racial capitalism/white supremacist capitalist patriarchy), vulnerability and fragility are also the grounds for harm and violence that is felt, like ruth wilson gilmore says, in "group differentiated" ways.
harm that occurs because of vulnerability and fragility is felt through the racial hierarchy. it's why black folks are disproportionately impacted by the virus through infection and death.
it's like @Hood_Biologist says, "the racial health inequities are the biological consequences of racism not proof of biological differences between races." we don't have to wonder what we'll do or be *after* this "passes."
we are finding out what we are doing and being through this particular moment. because C-19 is just another opportunity to illustrate the ongoing violence of racialization and class.
and we have a two party political system that is, itself, predicated on the violence of settler colonialism and antiblack racism. and we have candidates that want to "win" but have no genuine concern for the suffering of the masses. we cannot look to this system for liberation.
we have to, of necessity but also because of love, seek otherwise.
